How Choosing The Wrong Host Can Sabotage Your Traffic Drive
There is something nobody seems to talk about as far as choosing a web host is concerned. And that is how a web host affects your traffic. Surprised? But it's true.
I discovered this when I least thought about it. I had been using a host who discriminates among publishers. That is, it is very choosey. It was part of the agreement that if you got involved in any activities that jeopardized the well being of other users you may be banned without notice.
I had been using some of their modules and this did not seem real because of the aspects of their services I concentrated on. Then one day, I began to explore a module I had never used before. And guess what? They warned: If you have chosen to use this... you agree not to do... as this will jeopardize every other webmaster using the IP address ....
And, you know what? The things they were strongly against were things the engines hate. However, this was the first and last time I saw a web host take a stand on things like the quality of content (Not type of content this time) posted on by their customers.
Little wonder then, when I look around and no other host has as high a percentage of successful websites as this particular host. Over 60% of sites hosted by them make it into the top 3% on the web. More interestingly, up to 53% are in the top 2% and 35% are in the top 1% of all the websites in the whole world wide web.
Why have I given you these figures? I have done this to underscore the importance of taking the time to find out your co-tenants on a hosting service. If they are great, fine. If they have a lot of low quality sites, run. The search engines believe you're like the company you keep.
Don't let the wrong web host jeopardize all your traffic building efforts.
It will require some skills and resources to really investigate the quality of sites hosted on a network. But it is crucial if you don't intend to be found in the wrong company.
Alternatively, I can show you this web host that has set tough standards for sites thus ensuring quality. Bad news if you have or intend to build trash sites but pleasant news if you have or intend to build high quality sites that get massive traffic.
