Save On Hosting By Consolidating Your Sites Under A Reseller Plan

Have you started small with just one web site, then added some more over time, and now find yourself paying too many hosting bills from too many providers?

I know the feeling. I bought my first domain name in 2001 to publish my personal testimony. Then I bought several more domain names in 2002 for some business and christian websites.

For each of these websites I researched the internet looking for a cheap hosting company.

In the end I found myself with so many hosting accounts and so many bills to pay that I had a hard time paying them all on time. Actually, on more than one occasion I had a website suspended by the hosting company due to an unpaid bill.

Does this sound familiar to you? Do you feel you are you paying too much for hosting? Have you had a web site shut down because you could not pay all those bills on time? Have you wished to pay less? Do you think twice before you buy another domain name because it will add up another hosting bill?

Did you know there exist reseller accounts where you can host unlimited domain names?

The situation I found myself in made me research the web more profoundly. I wanted to find a cheaper hosting solution. In 2003 I learned about the existence of hosting reseller plans.

A reseller plan is one big hosting account with plenty of space and bandwidth that allows you to add unlimited domain names.

You can consolidate all your hosting in such a reseller plan.

You will pay one lower fee and have only one payday.

When you go shopping for a reseller plan watch out that you get one that offers a master control panel from which you can easily add the new domains and manage the existing domains. The reseller service I use has the WebHost Manager (WHM) installed.

The WHM will allow you to manage your hosting accounts more easily. With one login you can access all your websites.

Consider still keeping one or a few sites on separate hosting accounts if you want to give them a special treatment for whatever personal reasons you may have.

When you make the switch from your current hosting to the new reseller accounts you will need to first upload your domain content to the new hosting and then make the domain names point to the nameservers of the reseller hosting. Make a slight change in the version of your website that you upload to the new hosting, like changing some text or a color or an image. You will be able to recognize that the nameserver change has propagated over the internet when you can see the change you made on the live website.

You can find a link to the reseller hosting I have used since 2003 on that site under the heading
